Woot woot! So glad you fixed it; now I can say what I'd meant to say when I first read your entry from May 31st.

Namely: WHAT A COOL IDEA FOR A BOOK. Seriously! Many of the writers I see write a book and trunk it, write another one and trunk it, write a third one and abandon it - you know, they go through a number of projects before they finally up their skill enough to have something publishable.

That is probably a good way to go about it, but I was DELIGHTED to read your blog and find that you (like me) had found one thing that's really stuck and ate at you, an idea and a passion big enough to sustain you through all manner of reboots and rewrites. Way to hang with it! Way to train yourself up to be worthy of the tale!

And from a completely selfish perspective, I am so looking forward to more posts not only about the book itself, but also about the cool stuff you discover in researching for it. I LOVE it when authors can channel a real-world place or craft or thing in their fiction (you know, like have you ever finished reading a novel and said "Huh! I actually know a fair bit about woodworking now.") And I am so eager to learn more about this whole hidden pocket of the world!

Hahaha! You have me blushing. I'm glad you like my concept and all that jazz. This story idea has been with me for years, and it's slowly taking shape. The past couple of weeks I have been trudging along, for reasons mostly of a personal manner. I hope to get out of this funk I'm in and get to writing more regularly again. Thanks for the kind words.
